Laura Dávila

Daphne la Hechicera is the pen name of Laura Dávila, a Mexican witch, author, and teacher of brujería de rancho — a form of Mexican folk magic rooted in rural traditions, herbalism, and ancestral wisdom. A fifth-generation practitioner, she draws directly from her family’s lineage, blending Mexican folklore, folk Catholicism, and indigenous healing practices into her work.

Laura is the author of Mexican Sorcery: A Practical Guide to Brujería de Rancho and Mexican Magic: Brujería, Spells, and Rituals for All Occasions. Under the name Daphne la Hechicera, she offers teachings, limpias (spiritual cleansings), and workshops that revive the sacred art of everyday magic — the kind born in kitchens, backyards, and under the eyes of saints.

She is also a tarot reader and a Flores de Bach practitioner, Through her writing and teaching, she creates space for remembrance, resistance, and reclamation — especially for those reconnecting with their roots across borders, languages, and generations.
